Chris Nikolas has spent the last 29 years designing and creating jewelry. Inspired by Mediterranean and Old World Jewelry design, using cutting edge techniques and remarkable craftsmanship Chris delivers a signature that is uniquely his own. His work has been exhibited and published widely, and is available through select retailers. He also produces jewelry for private customers incorporating a wide range of materials, techniques and concepts.
Chris taught at The European Union Jewelry Guild from 1988 to 1998. He focused on two courses. Design Implementation and Compromises in Production (1988-1996). Simultaneously he established and operated a large-scale production jewelry facility for two decades. He produced his designs and enabled many new designers to get a start. He provided studio space and helped to produce and exhibit quality and original works by new designers. Concepts and Fabrication (1993-1998) proved to be a gratifying teaching experience. Students went from concept to finished product with an emphasis on wear-ability.
After moving to the states in 2000 Chris established his studio and the Chris Nikolas Gallery in San Francisco, California. Artists from Europe and the US exhibit jewelry and participate in special events. As a San Francisco based designer he enjoys the inspirations of the city and his passion for jewelry design. He continues to teach in his studio.
